What is our Mission? Start riding our MTB's in Budapest and go east to Asia, preferably all the way to the Himalaya mountains, just for fun. :)
Who? My girlfriend, Zsofi (28) and me, Felix (32).
When? April to October, 2010.
Where? Hungary - Romania - Bulgaria - Turkey - Iran - Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan - Tajikistan - Kyrgyzstan - China - Pakistan - India - Nepal.
And then we fly back home.
Accommodation: mainly in tent, + couchsurfing.org :)
We are looking for sponsors! We mainly need touring equipment (tent, sleeping bag, maps, bicycle stuff, stove, etc.). We will place the sponsors' logos to our blog with a link to their websites, of course.
The idea is actually quite old - my dream was to cycle to Tibet when I was 15. In summer 2009 I've mentioned my plan to Zsofi and she supported it, so we started to seriously consider it. We've told it to so many friends that now we MUST do it. :)
Background: This kind of activity is not new to me - I've already made some trips in Europe, the longest one was a 7 week and 4150 km long Northern European bicycle tour with a friend. Zsofi started riding the bike some 3 years ago, but she is very enthusiastic. Together, we haven't made long trips yet, only a 2-day Round-the-lake-Balaton (212 km) and a 1-day Tour de Pilis (142 km). Some people say that at first we should go on a shorter tour just to try if we can do it, but I say that yes, we start and try it in the first month, and if it is OK, then we continue. :)
